Surgery is not the cure for scoliosis
Updated: Jul 5, 2022
Why is surgery the only cure for scoliosis? Are there any other solutions?
What modern medicine has judged to be impossible for us is always the view that it is impossible, or should be so.
In Malayalam, it is said that a cat does not need to be white or black in order to catch a mouse. Many difficult diseases become possible only when specialists in all branches of medicine have this perspective of not having an ego.
Modern medicine sees only the spinal curvature and seeks to solve it only. But a holistic doctor practicing Ayurveda approaches the patient, not the disease. The process of treatment on such a very basic basis is different in both groups. A curvature of less than 10 degrees is normal in the eyes of modern medicine, so let's wait a little longer. No more surgery in a 20 to 45-degree curve. Wait a little longer. For the time being, you can use a spinal brace. So after a 45 degree then we can do surgery without any confusion. This is a problem that curvature of the spine is the only focus.
For holistic treatments like Ayurveda, even curves below 10 degrees are abnormal, and the effect of the treatment is most rapid when the curve is at its lowest point.
80% of scoliosis is Idiopathic scoliosis, which is caused by rapid muscle growth in adolescence, or muscle spasm caused by increased stress-induced neuromuscular activity. In addition, muscle is the cause of most scoliosis, including cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, and Marfan syndrome.
Muscles can only pull on anything, and pushing is not the function of muscles. It is when the muscles are pulling in the body with proper coordination, we are able to stand, sit and walk with the body straight. The spine is straight when the muscles on the sides of the spine are pulled together with good coordination. 99% of scoliosis occurs when the equilibrium is lost due to a decrease of strength or spasm of the muscles on one side. If this problem is solved and equilibrium is maintained, the impossible disease-scoliosis can be made possible. Ayurveda and Yoga are the means to that end
This is something that can be understood even if we think in terms of the awareness of the body we get at the school level. Yet it is never their fault that a large section of the medical community thinks this is impossible, it is the failure of an egoistic science that believes that scientific truths can only be proved in the lab, that it is the ultimate, and that it is the only truth.
Science must be able to start thinking from where it left off.
